Baby Bird

They call me young,
Possibly too fragile for such an encounter,
Simply a baby bird,
Begging for food,
Asking to fly out into the world,
But they didn’t realize,
The length of my wings,
The heights I could soar,
If only they knew,
How far I wanted to go,
Perhaps I would be,
Sitting at a desk typing away,
Or maybe they’re the reason why I will fly up and away,
Lighting the sky with what I have to say,
I shouldn’t be ashamed,
No matter who you are or what you come to be,
That baby bird inside you,
Can still fly high into the sky,
Twirling in the clouds,
For a beginning that never fades away.
